Meet Emily

Born and raised in the small town of Waynesville, Missouri, I grew up in the heart of the Ozarks along Historic Route 66.  My hometown of nearly 5,000 people is different from other small towns because it joins with two neighboring cities, St. Robert and Ft. Leonard Wood, to function as one community.  I like to say I got the best of both worlds growing up there.

I have experienced the small town life of canoeing down the Roubidoux River and four-wheeling around the countryside.  I also got to interact and learn from my extremely diverse community.  Ft. Leonard Wood is home to 35,000 service men and women and their families.  My entire life I have had the privilege of experiencing cultures from all around the globe without leaving my own neighborhood.

My upbringing has given me a passion to learn about the world and the people in it.  The best part of working in the world of television journalism is that there are no limits to the number of stories and experiences the everyday-person has to share.  I am honored many of them have chosen to share their lives with me.

My television career started at KOMU-TV 8 in Columbia, Missouri and then continued to WBND ABC 57 News in South Bend, Indiana.

My work in local news has allowed me to bask in my love of sports. I 'one-man-band' reported from Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis and covered the University of Notre Dame at the 2013 BCS National Championship in Miami. I've pushed the limits of my own creativity by going live from an airplane and working to incorporate the tiniest of cameras (GoPros and Polaroid Cubes) to give a different perspective on what I'm covering.

Currently I am a weekend anchor and reporter at KMOV St. Louis.
